President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. was profusely thanked by Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna for prioritizing the welfare of children and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn and grow in a nurturing environment at all times.
Too, the lady mayor expressed gratitude to President Marcos, Jr. for the warm welcome given to the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) family headed by Re Fugoso and the children from Manila who took part in an activity spearheaded by the President himself inside the Palace.
Lacuna said the MDSW participated in the Ceremonial Activity led by President Marcos, Jr. in support of the establishment of Child Development Centers in poor communities.

Held right at the Malacañan Palace, the event was graced by the President himself, who gamely mingled with selected Manila Child Development preschoolers, Child Development Workers and MDSW staff from the Manila City Hall.
It was learned from Fugoso that the initiative aims to provide accessible and quality early childhood education for young learners across the country.
“We extend our gratitude to President Marcos for prioritizing the welfare of children. The MDSW under our director, Re Fugoso, remains committed to supporting programs that uplift and empower the youth of Manila,” said Lacuna.
Lacuna underscored that just like the President, the city government of Manila also gives much importance in programs aimed at investing in early childhood development as a foundation for a brighter future for Manila and consequently, the entire nation.
The mayor expressed strong belief in the need to strengthen early childhood education, since children are the future leaders of the country.
