Pro12 gets 319 new cops

POLICE Regional Office 12 director, Brigadier General Michael John F. Dubria this week led the oath-taking of 319 new Central Mindanao policemen who will undergo six months of rigorous training at the Regional Training Center.

The 319 rookies, 54 of them females were recruited by the PRO12 under the 2nd Cycle of the Calendar Year 2020 Patrolman Regular Recruitment Program of the Philippine National Police.

Dubria said that the successful PNP applicants underwent a series of strict vetting as part of the transparent and fair PNP recruitment program before being admitted to the PRO12.

The 319 were issued their PNP-ATM cards by Dubria, assisted by PRO12 regional comptroller, Colonel Allan Rafael.

Dubria welcomed and inspired the new breed of uniformed personnel to persevere during their training. “As of the moment, welcome to the PRO 12… We wish you good luck… Make good because, in the police force, we expect that young bloods like you will be oriented on the right things in order to become professional police officers,” he said.

“Wearing your PNP uniform right now is not an assurance that you can finish, so I post this challenge to you…do your best, train hard, survive the training and I hope to see you again during your graduation day after six months,” he added.

Strict social distancing and observance of minimum health safety protocols such as wearing of face masks, face shields, gloves, and other protective gear were observed during the event.

The families and other visitors of the recruits were not allowed to join the occasion as part of the PRO12’s strict observance of health protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

However, they were able to witness the oath-taking of the recruits via live streaming on Facebook.

The 319 rookies were turned over by Dubria to the Regional Training Center 12 which will supervise their 6-month Public Safety Basic Recruit Course.
