PRO3 nets 794 crime suspects

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office 3’s (PRO3) anti-crime drive resulted to the arrest of 794 individuals, including wanted persons in different parts of Central Luzon.

Some 260 of them were arrested for illegal gambling, 206 for illegal drugs, 213 persons have standing warrants of arrest, and 115 were apprehended during the implementation of search warrants and for violating local ordinances as well as other special laws.

Some 651 pieces of heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 995 grams, 54 sachets of marijuana weighing 368 grams, 39 assorted loose firearms and bet money amounting to P163, 898 were seized from the suspects.

PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon said that these accomplishments, particularly in the arrest of wanted fugitives, people involved in illegal drugs, illegal gambling and street crimes were the results of the strong support of all local chief executives in the anti-criminality campaign.

Our strings of operations are in adherence to the marching order of Gen. Debold Sinas to intensify, reinvigorate and to focus on the anti-criminality drive efforts of the PNP,” he added.

Meanwhile, an active member of CTG Militiang Bayan non-PSRTG in Zambales surrendered to authorities recently.

Joint personnel of the Zambales PPO, 1st PMFC ZPPO, PIU ZPPO, RID PRO3, 2nd PMFC ZPPO, Palauig MPS, San Narciso MPS, 305th MC RMFB3, 25th SAC SAF, 23rd SAC SAF, 71st & 72nd MICO 7MIB, 7ID, PA 3rd Mechanized Bn. 33rd Mech Coy, PA operatives were able to convince “Ka Raffy“, an active CTG Militiang Bayan non-PSRTG member to surrender.

Ka Raffy joined the armed group after his brother was killed during an armed encounter with the PNP on March, 2004. He turned in a Smith & Wesson cal. .38 revolver without serial number.

He is also eligible to avail of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (e-clip) and will be provided with a holistic package of benefits such as livelihood, medical, education, housing and legal assistance.

I am urging those who are still actively fighting the government to lay down their arms and embrace other peaceful means. Our government has several programs to retool you so that you could all become even more productive members of our society,” De Leon said.
