The Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO)—Laguna, the Laguna State Polytechnic University San Pablo City Campus (LSPU SPCC) Research & Development (R&D), Extension Training Services (ETS) Office, and the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) met at RDE Function Hall LSPU San Pablo City Campus to explore potential partnerships to support local businesses and communities.
The meeting commenced with a brief introduction of the participants. In attendance were Dr. Delon Ching, R&D Director; Ms. Angela L. Reginaldo, ETS Director; Dr. Desiree Wagan, CBAA Dean with the Extension and Research Coordinators; and PD Agnes G. Morales, PSTO Laguna Provincial Director, Engr. Jenny Ann N. Lawas, Supervising SRS, and Mr Leandro Dimatulac, Project Technical Assistant.
PD Morales highlighted the ongoing partnership with the LSPU System, focusing on various projects and initiatives that have benefitted the local population. The discussion emphasized expanding the collaborations with LSPU San Pablo campus in the on-going and in the upcoming activities such as RoboClash Tournament, BISTech Webinar Series, GRIND Saliklakbay Project, among others. In addition, DOST’s banner programs Community Empowerment through S&T (CEST), Community-Based Projects (CBP), Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP), and iFWD Project were also presented for the group’s awareness emphasizing that these projects aim to enhance local communities’ livelihood and MSMEs’ technological capacity by providing consultancy, training, and technology upgrading.

In addition, possible collaborations between the LSPU College of Engineering (COE) and the IDD Laboratory housed in the PSTO Laguna to provide technical assistance and training for local industries and research-based innovations emerged. This partnership seeks to advance technological solutions for regional challenges, emphasizing sustainable and practical outcomes.
Another topic discussed by the Dean of CBAA, Dr. Desiree L. Wagan, and the Extension Coordinator, Mr. Guillermo Briones, was LSPU’s CBAA Extension Program in Brgy. Sta. Catalina to help the association improve its existing products. DOST Laguna’s possible assistance focuses on providing technical assistance, food safety training, and product testing for its assisted communities. This program aims to improve food products’ quality and safety standards in the locality, benefiting the members and the communities.
