GOOD news to solo parents and persons with disability (PWDs) in Manila.

Mayor Honey Lacuna announced that by early next month, they will be receiving P3,000 each representing their monthly allowance from the city government.

According to Lacuna, the target date of release of the said financial assistance will be on the first week of December.

She also assured the solo parents and PWDs that the said benefits will be a continuing thing under her stewardship.

The mayor enthused that when she attended a Christmas tree lighting in a shopping mall and used the restroom, a PWD waited for her outside the restroom just to ask when the said allowance will be released.

In the same breadth, the lady mayor said that the monthly financial assistance for senior citizens and university students in the city will also continue to be given.

The grant of such financial aid is part of the city government’s social amelioration program. It covers 15,000 senior citizens; 21,800 PWDs; 5,000 solo parents; 17,000 university students and 5,000 Grade 12 students.

The college students receive P1,000 monthly allowance from the city while the senior high school students get P500 also every month, along with the solo parents, senior citizens and the PWDs.
