Quezon cops net 14 wanted men

LUCENA CITY – The stepped-up campaign launched by the Quezon Police Provincial Office against wanted felons netted 14 most wanted men in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region.

Quezon police director Col. Ramil Montilla identified three of the arrested as Marlo Sangcap, Jessie Beting and Sonny Nieves who were listed 3rd, 6th and 10th, respectively, in the roster of 10 most wanted men in the region.

In his report to Police Regional Office-Calabarzon director Brig. Gen. Edward Carranza, Montilla said Sangcap, 59, who faces murder charges, was arrested on June 2 in Bgy. Matandang Sabang Kanluran, Catanauan, Quezon.

Beting, 39, who is wanted for rape, was caught on June 7 in Bgy. Ilayang Polo, Pagbilao, Quezon.

Nieves, 43, who faces two counts of rape, was arrested on June 4 in Malate, Manila.

Montilla said  no bail was recommended for Sangcap. Beting and Nieves.

The official also identified the 11 other most wanted persons in the municipal level they arrested as Virgilo Pareja, (frustrated homicide); Romeo Bandagoza,  (robbery); Ricky Manalo, (serious physical injuries); Reynaldo Villanea, (homicide); Arnel Alpuerto, (qualified theft); Dionisio De Guzman, (frustrated murder); Dondon Flores, (theft); and Alfredo Serafin Jr., (rape).

Montilla expressed optimism that they will catch more wanted persons soon with their intensified drive against lawless elements.
