Quezon records 25 new Covid-19 cases

LUCENA City — The spike in Covid-19 cases has alarmed residents of Quezon province which has over 500  virus carriers.

In its 8 a.m. bulletin, the Quezon Public Information Office  announced the additional 25 new confirmed cases,  bringing to 517 the total number of people infected in the province.

Of the 25 cases, 13 were from the town of Mauban, six from Candelaria, three from Tayabas City, two from San Antonio, and one from Lopez.

At present, the capital city has 129 confirmed cases, the highest in the province,  but 86 patients have already recovered.

Lucena City is followed by Candelaria,  with 46 cases; Tayabas, 44; and Mauban,  43. Of the 517 confirmed cases, 228 have recovered, 19 have died while 270 are in hospitals.

The two latest fatalities were from Candelaria and this city.

The Covid-19 cases started to rise a few days after the province was placed under Modified General Community Quarantine  status last July 1.
