Righteous expenditure of people’s budget assured

THE chairman of the House committee on appropriations on Sunday expressed his commitment to safeguard the righteous expenditure of the people’s budget following the enactment of the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for 2021 and two other measures extending the validity of the 2020 GAA and of the Bayanihan 2.

“Our responsibility as the appropriations chair does not end once the budget is enacted. Aside from our regular committee work, we will exercise the oversight function of the committee to look into how the budget will be spent throughout the year. Eric Yap, caretaker of Benguet province.

If we uncover proof of corruption and irregularities, heads should roll,” Yap said.

“This is in consistence with the President’s directive to further intensify the anti-corruption efforts in the government. No one is untouchable.
