IN order to give way to the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene and the holding of ‘Traslacion 2025’ which is expected to draw millions, some roads in Manila will be closed to traffic from 9 p.m. of January 8 up to January 9, 2025.
Among those closed to traffic are Bonifacio Drive from Anda Circle to P. Burgos Avenue; Katigbak Drive and South Drive (One Lane Accessible to Manila Hotel and H2O Hotel; stretch of Independence Road; Roxas Boulevarfrom Katigbak to U.N. Avenue; P. Burgos from Roxas Boulevard to Jones, McArthur and Quezon Bridge; Finance Road from P. Burgos Avenue to Taft Avenue; Ma. Orosa St. from T.M. Kalaw to P. Burgos Avenue; Taft Avenue from U.N. Avenue to P. Burgos Avenue; Romualdez from U.N. Avenue to Ayala Boulevard; Ayala Avenue from Taft Avenue to Romualdez St.; C. Palanca St. from P. Casal to Plaza Lacson; P. Casal from C. Palanca to Arlegui St.; Legarda St. from C.M. Recto Avenue to Arlegui St.; Quezon Boulevard from Fugoso St. to Quezon Bridge and westbound lane of España Boulevard from P. Campa to Lerma St.
Motorists who are southbound from Mel Lopez Boulevard (R-10) going to Roxas Boulevard may turn left to Capulong St., straight to Yuseco St. up to Lacson Avenue to destination.
Vehicles that are southboundfrom J. Abad Santos Avenue / R. Regente to Intramuros Area must turn right to San Fernando St., left Madrid St., left Muelle Dela Industria up to Binondo-Intramuros Bridge and A. Soriano Avenue to point of destination or may take Juan Luna St., turn right to Muelle Dela Industria up to Binondo-Intramuros Bridge.
All vehicles traveling southbound of Rizal Avenue intending to utilize McArthur Bridge going to the south area, shall turn left to C.M. Recto Avenue, left to Legarda Street, to the point of destination.”
Southbound vehicles from A. Mendoza St. going to Quezon Boulevard should turn right to Fugoso St. and Rizal Avenue to point of destination while those taking the westbound lane of España Boulevard going to Quezon Boulevard may turn left to N. Reyes St. up to C.M. Recto Avenue to destination.
Northbound vehicles on Roxas Boulevard to P. Burgos Avenue may turn right to U.N. Avenue, go straight to P. Guanzon St. to Mabini Bridge while trucks and trailers that are northbound on Roxas Boulevard going to Mel Lopez Boulevard (Pier Area) may turn right to Pres. Quirino Avenue Mabini Bridge to point of destination.
All vehicles traveling northbound of Taft Avenue going to P. Burgos Avenue shall turn right to U.N. Avenue, straight to P. Guazon Street to Mabini Bridge to the point of destination.
Closure of some streets will be in effect as the procession approaches,” the traffic advisory said.
