Road closures in Manila due to Asics Rock ‘n Roll Manila Marathon

Several roads in Manila will be closed during the weekend to give way to the holding of the ASICS Rock ‘n Roll Manila Marathon.

In a traffic advisory issued by the Manila Public Information Office (PIO) headed by Atty. Princess Abante, who is also spokesperson to Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, it was learned that the road closures will start 11 p.m. of Saturday, November 25, up to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 26.

“TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Due to the upcoming ASICS Rock ‘n Roll Manila Marathon, the public is advised of the upcoming road closures from 1PM of Saturday, November 25 until 8AM of Sunday, November 26,” the advisory said.

Affected by road closures are: Bonifacio Drive (from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive); Katigbak Drive and South Drive; Independence Road; P. Burgos Avenue (from Roxas Boulevard to Jones, McArthur and Quezon Bridges) and Ma. Orosa St. (from P. Burgos to Kalaw).

Also affected are Finance Road (from P. Burgos Avenue to Taft Avenue); Northbound lane of Taft Avenue from Ayala Boulevard to P. Burgos Avenue (two lanes); Muralla St. (from Sta. Lucia St. to Real St.); Real St. (from Muralla St. to Sta. Lucia St.); Sta. Lucia St. (from Real St. to Muralla St.) and Quintin Paredes St. (from Jones Bridge to Ongpin St.).

From 10 p.m., the stretch of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to President Quirino Avenue.

In connection with this, the city government advised motorists to look for alternative routes to go their respective destinations.

On Thursday, the AIA Vitality Expo ASICS Rock ‘n Roll Manila Marathon was formally opened at the Midtown Wing Exhibit Area of Robinsons Place Manila.
