Robber caught hiding in BPI-Laguna ceiling

A 35-YEAR-OLD suspected robber was found hiding in the ceiling of a Bank of the Philippines Island (BPI) branch Thursday evening in Bgy. Pagsawitan, Sta Cruz, Laguna.

Sta. Cruz police chief, PLt.Col Chitadel Gaoiran identified the arrested suspect as Rhomey Rabanzo Coralde, of Sitio 1, Bgy. Palasan,Sta Cruz.

The robbery incident was discovered by a BPI security guard identified as Astillero Salvador, 42, of Bgy. Conception, Lumban, Laguna, after he noticed the bank’s front door broken at around 11:30 p.m.

Salvador reported the incident to the Sta. Cruz police and 2nd Laguna Provincial Mobile Force Company (LPMFC) who immediately responded and found the suspect hiding in the ceiling.

Gaoiran said recovered from the suspect possession were P1,000 in cash, a Samsung cellphone with charger worth more or less P8,000,a computer monitor worth more or less P5000, among other items.

Initial investigation showed the suspect managed to enter the bank by breaking its front glass door.

The suspect then allegedly proceeded to steal the items recovered from him then hid in the ceiling apparently to elude arrest.

The suspect was brought to the Sta. Cruz police. He is facing criminal charges.
