TO safeguard its medical personnel, Tagug City Mayor Lino Cayetano decided to apply the latest technology by deploying ‘ robonurses’ that will take care of COVID -29 patients in the city.
Cayetano, in a meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) – Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) said the measure only shows the city government of Taguig is more than willing to use technology in responding to the pandemic.
The mayor explained that the Robonurses, created by students belong to the Taguig Robotics Team, were used during the cyber graduation of public schools last May.
“These robots will physically carry medications and other supplies to Covid-19 patients while the nurses look on from the monitor at the head of the robot,” said Cayetano.
“We assure our citizens that the good results only encourage us to further improve our systems and look for more areas to innovate,” the mayor added.
