CEBU CITY – UniTeam senatorial candidate Harry Roque said Cebu must have its own Light Rail Transit (LRT) to facilitate easy travel and address the worsening traffic situation in the province.
Roque said the province needs a railway system that would connect northern and southern Cebu.
“Iimplement natin ‘yung mga infrastructure projects para maibsan narin ang lumalalang problema sa traffic,” Roque said.
“Kinakailangan ng mass transportation sa Cebu, kinanakailangan nang ituloy ang LRT dito. Sa tingin ko, it’s the trains that we need. Makakatulong ito sa mga Cebuanos namakaiwas sa traffic at mapadali ang transportation system nila,” he added.
Aside from the railway system, Roque also assured Cebuanosthat they would have potable water.
Lulutasin natin ang malaking problema sa Cebu which is lack to potable water. Malaking problema po ito ng Cebu. Kagaya po ng isinusulong natin na right to water at food bill, bibigyan po natin ng sapat na potable water ang probinsya,” Roque said.
“We will work hard to make potable water for all Filipinos a reality by 2028,” he added.
Roque has been pushing for clean and potable water for every Filipino.
“Isusulong din po natin ang right to water bill gaya ng pitongtaon na ibinibigay natin para matigil ang kagutuman, pitong taondin natin para magkaroon ng ligtas at malinis na tubig na pang-inom para sa lahat ng Pilipino,” he said.
