Roque : Comelec decision a triumph of democracy

BATANGAS CITY – The final hurdle in the disqualification case against standard-bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has been cleared.

UniTeam senatorial candidate described the Commission of Elections’ dismissal of the last petition to disqualify survey frontrunner Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. from the presidential race as a triumph of democracy.

The First Division said it was not convinced that Marcos had committed a crime involving moral turpitude, which the petitioners cited as a reason for disqualification.

It said that failure to file an income tax return is not a crime involving moral turpitude.

Meanwhile, Roque urged Filipinos to come out and vote on May 9 to fulfill their obligation as citizens.
