Roque distributes multi-vitamins to voters

UniTeam senatorial candidate Harry Roque distributed multi-vitamins to voters to boost their immune system amid the COVID19 pandemic.

Roque and his team have handed out vitamins aside from flyers and t-shirts during campaign sorties.

“Mahalaga po ang kalusugan lalo na po ngayong panahon ng pandemya. Kailangan po malakas ang pangangatawan para maka-iwas po tayo sa COVID19,” Roque, a health advocate, said.

The Department of Health (DOH) said that Vitamins C with zinc boosts the immune system against the COVID19 virus.

The government has promoted vitamin C consumption, face mask-wearing, and frequent handwashing.

Roque said that taking vitamins would be helpful for Filipinos not just to prevent COVID19 but also other viruses or infections.

“Hindi lang po ito para maiwasan ang COVID19, ito rin po ay upang lumakas ang resistensya at maka-iwas sa iba’t ibang uring sakit. Dapat lang na maging malusog ang panganatawan ng isang indibidwal. Marami ho kasi itong benepisyo,” Roque said.

As the Philippines reported new Omicron subvariants cases, independent analytics firm OCTA Research warned that COVID19 cases might reach 5,000 to 10,000 per day in mid-May.

Roque stressed that lockdown should not be an option with the spread of a COVID19 as it would affect the livelihoods of Filipinos.

“New variant is nothing new. Mask, iwas at bakuna pa rin. Lockdown should not be an option. Ingat buhay para sahanapbuhay,” Roque said.
