Roque: Don’t be swayed by candidates’ popularity

UniTeam senatorial candidate Harry Roque advised voters not to be swayed by a candidate’s popularity and vote for candidates who know policymaking.

Roque said that voters should review an aspirant’s background and ensure that they can do their responsibility to serve the public.

Roque, a law expert, said that lawmakers should use the law to improve the lives of Filipinos and the country.

The former University of the Philippines law professor reiterated his expertise in law as he taught it for 15 years and used it to help Filipinos.

Earlier, Roque urged voters to give more weight to candidates’ legal minds and legislative experience than the entertainment value they can bring to the Senate.

“When choosing national legislators, our kababayans should look beyond the song-and-dance skills or physical attributes,” he said.

“It would be ideal for lawmakers to be well-versed in local and international statutes as this will certainly inform their legislative priorities for our countrymen,” he added.
