Sara Duterte gets HPG master rider badge

DAVAO City Mayor Sara ‘Inday’ Zimmerman Duterte yesterday became the latest politician to be given the Honorary Master Rider Badge by the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group headed by Brigadier General Alexander C. Tagum.

Tagum and his officials flew to Davao City from Camp Crame to present the Master Rider Badge and certificate to the strong-willed presidential daughter.

“The HPG family excitedly welcome Inday Sara to the elite rooster of Master Riders in the country. She is not only an avid Motorcycle Rider but is also a champion for road safety and is best known for her “courage and compassion” kind of leadership,” said the PNP-HPG director in a statement.

An HPG Master Rider Badge is given by the HPG director to members of the HPG and other law and traffic enforcers or private individuals who finished an HPG Motorcycle Riding Course and completed a 5,000-kilometer ride after graduation.

“Today, we are honored that Mayor Duterte accepted the responsibility of a Master Rider. She is now officially added to the roster of Master Riders whose responsibility is to ensure that road safety programs will be implemented in the City of Davao,” said Tagum.

“A long time rider herself she would attest that safety along our highways and thoroughfares are equally important in the economic growth of our communities. I am certain with her on our side, we will together endeavor for more policies that would effectively curb criminality along our highways,” the official said.
