The Department emphasized that the regular drug testing program aims to safeguard DSWD employees from the ill effects of drug abuse, hence, promoting a productive workplace and yielding better outputs.

In compliance with Civil Service Memorandum Circular No. 13, s. 2017 or the “Guidelines in the Mandatory Random Drug Test for Public Officials and Employees and for Other Purposes” and DSWD Administrative Order No. 14, series of 2017 or the Enhanced Guidelines in the Implementation of a Drug-free Workplace Program, the Secretary submitted his urine samples for the drug test which was administered by the East Avenue Medical Center National Reference Laboratory.

The Secretary, along with the whole DSWD, seeks to ensure that officials and employees of the Department are free from any adverse impacts of substance use on their job performance by establishing a drug-free working environment.
