Sen. Bong warns fake news vloggers: ‘Dapat kalusin na’

Bong Revilla

SEN. Bong Revilla is celebrating another milestone with his birthday on Friday, September 25, and instead of having a big party to celebrate it, he opts to just give 1,500 10-inch tablet computers to deserving students. The lucky recipients were announced yesterday, Sunday.

He had a zoom presscon with selected members of the press and launched KAP (Kaalaman Ating Palawakin) to give away the gadgets needed for education. Recipients were chosen from the NCR (National Capital Region), Visayas and Mindanao.

“Yung di mabibigyan ngayon, may mga karagdagan pang ipamimigay later, basta sumubaybay lang kayo. Kaya huwag malungkot sa mga hindi umabot dahil may pag-asa pa, basta tutok lang, at sana ay mabigyan natin ang mga mag-aaral na talagang nangangailangan, dahil sila talaga ang inspirasyon ko sa kaarawan kong ito,” says Sen. Bong.

The senator also expressed alarm over fake news that he died. Vloggers have done this not only to him but also to other celebrities who they reported to have died. They are are doing this as click bait, so viewers will be immediately attracted then open up their Youtube vlogs and they can get more hits.

“This bad practice of reporting fake news has to be stopped,” says the senator. “Pinatawad ko na sila, kasi ang importante, buhay ako, pero paulit-ulit na, e. Sobra na. Di ba, sabi, kapag puno na ang salop, kalusin, ganyan. Puede namang idaan sa legal. Sa mga gumagawa ng fake news na ‘yan, we will do something about it. It is under my committee sa senate. So darating po tayo diyan, paiimbestigahan ko po ‘yan.”

What can he say that there’s also a report that he was given special treatment at a pricey hospital when he got infected with the corona virus?

“Another fake news,” he says. “How can that happen when I had to wait for two days before I was given my own private room? Well, I’m just thankful kay Lord na magaling na ako ngayon at walang nahawa sa amin sa pamilya ko. And now, ready na ako to report, in case magpatawag ang GMA-7 to resume our taping for ‘Agimat ni Agila’. We have started taping it pero natigil nga dahil sa pandemic.”

Angelica opts to stay at ABS-CBN

Angelica PanganibanANGELICA Panganiban chose to stay with ABS-CBN and not join colleagues who moved to TV5 to be part of a new gag show. Angelica used to be part of “Banana Sundae” at the Kapamilya Station, but now that it’s gone, its director, Bobot Mortiz, is currently directing a new gag show for TV5 entitled “Sunday Kada, Kada Sunday”.

Among former cast members of “Banana Sundae” who is sure to join Direk Bobot is Ritz Azul, for whom this move is just a homecoming since it was TV5’s artista search called Star Factor that discovered her before it folded up its entertainment division. Other Kapamilya stars joining her are Wacky Kiray, Jerome Ponce, Jhen Maloles, Sunshine Garcia, Aiko Climaco and Badjie Mortiz.

As for Angelica, she didn’t leave ABS-CBN as she has two new shows. First is the soap “Walang Hanggang Paalam” with Paulo Avelino and Zanjoe Marudo, then the talk show “Ask Angelica”, which will be on their digital channels. Angelica will make a good talk show host as she’s quite outspoken and irrepressible.

One thing with Angelica, even in her social media posts, you never know what she’s gonna say next and we’re sure viewers would love her being so spontaneous and candid. She can also dispense to viewers her own credible insights about love and life as we all know she has experienced various heartaches with past boyfriends like Carlo Aquino, Derek Ramsay and John Lloyd Cruz.

In the trailer of her show, she was asked what would she do if the man she loves is in the arms of another girl. “Gusto mo bang iwan niya ang present niya o ikaw na lang ang lalayo?”

Her answer: “May iba na nga, eh! ‘Wag kang umeepal! Lumayo ka, gawin mo kung ano ang tama. Kung may iba na, wag mo nang landiin. Hindi maganda kasi, kapag meron ng iba, meron na! Hindi naman tayo mauubusan ng lalaki at saka kung hindi para sa ‘yo, hindi sa ‘yo.

‘Wag tayong taeng-tae sa lalaki. Huwag kang tatanga-tanga. Mali ang pumasok sa isang relasyon na meron kang maapakang ibang tao. Hindi ‘yun maganda at never ‘yon magiging maganda.”
She said quite a mouthful, didn’t she? And that’s just for starters. We can’t wait to see her whole show. We just hope they will be able to get her more interesting and articulate guest stars that can match her wit.
