AT least a thousand families who were adversely affected by the recent typhoon ‘Tino’ received much-needed aid from Senator Erwin Tulfo on Saturday.

The neophyte Senator personally distributed rice and essentials to about 1,000 families in Langogan, Puerto Princesa, in addition to the prior distribution of financial assistance in the Palawan municipalities of Roxas, Agutaya, Araceli and Coron.

“As long as I am a Senator, we will work together to alleviate the situation not only in Langogan, Puerto Princesa, but the entire Palawan, and ultimately, the entire MIMAROPA Region, which has always been left behind,” Tulfo vowed.

As one who hails from Palawan, Sen. Erwin also took the time to visit Barangay Binduyan in Puerto Princesa, which recently experienced a landslide resulting in a broken portion of the national highway.

He reassured the Western Command (WESTCOM) in Palawan, headed by Commander Vice Admiral Alfonso Torres Jr., that he will advocate for their additional funding in the infrastructure development and maintenance of the military hospital.

Too, he lauded the service of the defenders of the Western Frontier, as reflected by the high public trust for the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines.

“I told myself that I will help you because you are helping the nation a lot. Please keep it that way,” Tulfo said, addressing the military of the Western Command.

Capping off his visit to his hometown, Sen. Erwin addressed his fellow alumni at the Seminario de San Jose, who are also active in public service.

“Discipline, patience, and prayers. These have been my compass in serving the people. The world of politics can test your character every single day. But thanks to the seminary, I learned that true leadership means service, and service means love, not ambition,” Tulfo remarked.

Being an advocate of public service rendered immediately and straight to the people, Sen. Erwin actively helps through his extension office in Palawan to serve MIMAROPA citizens with medical, financial, burial and legal assistance, among others.
