SENATOR Erwin Tulfo said that September 21, 2025 should be the last day of corruption in government, in the wake of countrywide protests over the weekend by various groups denouncing corruption that attended flood control projects.

“Loud and clear!!! We all need to fix our work in the government and avoid falling into corruption,” said Tulfo, as he also called on involved government officials and contractors to return the people’s money.

Asked for his reaction to Sunday’s anti-corruption rallies in Luneta in Manila and the People Power Monument on EDSA, Quezon City, Tulfo said that. “they (the people) are watching and they are tired of corruption. This is the public’s message to the government to ‘shape up or we will take control’.”

Thousands attended the said protests in Manila and Quezon City to condemn the corruption of public funds through ghost and substandard flood control projects.

In advising contractors and those in government to return the funds they pocketed, Tulfo stressed: “It’s as if they held up or pickpocketed poor Juan just to buy their luxuries.”
