A 27-year-old man was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding suspects who were then shot by a Manila policeman who responded to the scene. The two suspects are recovering at the Tondo Medical Center and have been charged with murder.

It was learned that the incident took place at around 2 a.m. the other day near the corner of Cavite and Alcalde Streets in Brgy. 171, Gagalangin Tondo, Manila.

The Manila Police District – Station 1, through PSSg Rommel Almodal, reported that victim Angelo Pidlaoan, 32, of 753 Interior 57 Raxabago St, Barangay 155, Tondo, Manila, was initially shot dead by suspect Roberto de Guzman, 27, of No. 617 Francisco St., Barangay 86, Tondo, Manila.

PCpl. Greagan Ronnel Aga of the Don Bosco Police Community Precinct heard the gunshots and responded to the scene, catching De Guzman in the act of shooting the victim who got hit in the different parts of the body, resulting in his instant death.

Aga yelled to De Guzman, “pulis ito, itigil mo ‘yan!” but instead of stopping, the suspect aimed at the cop, prompting the latter to fire, hitting De Guzman in the stomach.

On seeing this, the other suspect, Jhiro Beninsiga, 27, of No. 2137 Lorenzo St., Brgy. 221, Tondo, Manila, hurriedly boarded his motorcycle but was pursued by Aga who, upon firing, hit the suspect in the back.
