NINETY-EIGHT new recruits of the National Capital Region Police Office have taken their oath of office before NCRPO director, Major General Debold M. Sinas who made it clear to them that any of their wrong moves and other infractions may lead to their termination from the police force.
The 98 were among the 618 NCRPO Online Applicants who topped a rigid screening for the Philippine National Police regular recruitment quota which started last July 2020.
“They were able to outshine the rest of their fellows during the physical exercises, medical, dental and neuropsychiatric examination conducted to gauge their capability and endurance,” said Maj. Gen. Sinas as he administered the oath-taking of the 98 during simple ceremonies at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.
The newly recruits have sworn to serve the public with honor, justice and integrity anchored on the PNP’s Core Values and Sinas said they expect them to be true to their oath.
“The whole PNP have high hopes that this batch will produce effective police officers for there are two magna cum laude and five cum laude graduates among them,” Sinas said.
The others include 73 licensed criminologists, 7 business administration graduates and 6 licensed teachers. Some are graduates of Bachelor of Science in Library and Sicene, Information Technology, Engineering, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Computer Science.
The 98 were turned over to the National Capital Region Training Center headed by Lieutenant Colonel Sancho O. Celedio and will be undergoing a 6-months Public Safety Basic Recruit Course.
During the rigorous training, the recruits will be exposed to the basic knowledge in policing, combat and tactics, administrative and operations and traffic procedures, Celedio said.
According to Sinas, the new recruits will further beef-up the manpower of the NCRPO which is in-charge of keeping peace and order in the entire metropolis while waging a successful war on drugs, rogues in uniform and terrorism.
