Formed in May 2021, Sining LABinsiyam (SiLAB) is a production house under the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Theater Arts Program by student-artists from the Batch 119 practicings theater production. After a year of online productions, the group is back on the physical stage with their latest hybrid production designed by Tuxqs Rutaquio and directed by Jenny Logico-Cruz.
Orgullo Compound is written by Dr. Layeta Bucoy as their defense paper on nanotechnology. The characters’ academic and personal life show parallelism in how they manage their dilemma, and as the story progresses, the residents look for solutions to their decaying bond.
A perceptive character study, Orgullo Compound focuses on how trauma and unfair treatment throughout childhood can have a long-term impact on behavior. With honest portrayal and theatrical experience, SiLAB intends to ardently bring the underrepresented Filipino narratives into the contemporary stage.
