Sinovac rollout for Ecija PJGMRMC frontliners starts

CABANATUAN CITY — The rollout for China’s Sinovac vaccines has started for medical frontliners at the Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center (PJGMRMC) in this city on Monday.

At least 721 doses of the Sinovac vaccine have reportedly been delivered to the PJGMRMC by the Department of Health.

Nueva Ecija Gov. Aurelio M. Umali and Cabanatuan City Mayor Myca Elizabeth R. Vergara witnessed the ceremonial vaccination led by Dr. Huberto F. Lapuz, PJGMRMC director.

Umali said he has full confidence in the vaccine rollout being spearheaded by the government “because we have a medical pandemic that requires a medical solution, and together we can all heal as one.

At the outset, two top medical practitioners were inoculated with the Sinovac vaccine. The duo were identified as Dr. Jose Ravinar Austria, head of the medical and professional department and Dr. Andrew Mangiduyos of the emergency department.

Lapuz said they are targeting to initially inoculate some 105 medical frontliners of the hospital with at least 646 of these health workers willing to be vaccinated.

He added that the second Sinovac vaccine dose will be administered after 28 days.

Vergara said the city government has allotted some P250 million for the city’s vaccine rollout program.
