FOR violating the conditions of their stay in the country thus rendering them undesirable under Philippine immigration laws, six Chinese nationals were arrested by operatives from the Bureau of Immigration-Intelligence Division (BI-ID).

BI-ID Chief Fortunato “Jun” Manahan, Jr. said the operation is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s directive to ensure the strict enforcement of immigration policies and maintain order in the entry and stay of foreign nationals.

Manahan said all six were apprehended last August 6 in Brgy. Sto. Cristo, San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan after being found working in a construction company in the area.

On investigation, two of the Chinese nationals were found with valid working visas, but were petitioned by a company different from the one they were actually working for — a clear violation of the terms of their visa. The other four only possessed tourist visas, which do not grant them the authority to engage in any form of employment in the Philippines.

According to Manahan, the six aliens committed serious violations of the conditions of their stay, which makes them undesirable aliens.

They are now undergoing deportation proceedings and will be included in the BI’s blacklist to prevent their re-entry into the country.
