Snow storm triggers PAL cancellation of New York flight

Owing to the super winter storm being experienced in various US states, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) cancelled on Saturday its PR 126/127 Manila-New York- Manila, for January 24 and January 25, 2026.

The cancellation came as it was reported that around 19,000 airports in the US cancelled their flights because of the super winter storm, with 40 of the 50 states having declared a state of emergency.

Said winter storm was described by authorities as the biggest winter storm to Hit US since 10 years ago.

Too, it was reported that airlines have canceled more than 4,000 flights scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in the US, according to flight-tracking website Flight Aware.

Reportedly, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, one of the nation’s busiest, has been most affected, with more than 1,200 of its departing or arriving weekend flights canceled so far.

So far, more than 180 million people are on alert for a massive weekend storm that stretches from New Mexico to Main and which is expected to paralyze the South with dangerous ice and snow.
