Solon: Stop victim-blaming

ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Niña Taduran has appealed to netizens to stop blaming flight attendant Christine Angelica Dacera in connection with the circumstances sorrounding her death.

“Stop victim-blaming. It is already hard for Christine’s family to lose her, it makes it harder for them to hear people say that what happened was her own doing. Let us pray that this won’t happen again to anyone,” said Taduran

Taduran also called on all parties who may have been involved in the death of Dacera to come forward.

This as fellow party-list Rep. Eric Yap, chairman of the House committee on appropriations, from ACT-CIS raised a ₱100,000 reward for the arrest of each of the nine still at large suspects.

Taduran, an anti-crime advocate, condemned the brutal death of the 23-year old flight attendant after authorities found her with a laceration and several bruises, as well as evidence of sexual contact in a Makati Hotel on New Year’s Day.

“The truth has to come out, and only the arrest of the remaining nine persons will complete the investigation,” Taduran said.
