Sotto is now 7-3

KAI Sotto, seeking to be the first full-blooded Filipino to play in the NBA, continues to grow.

“New Facts: Height 7’3 Wingspan 7’5 Continue to WATCH ME WORK,” Sotto posted on his Twitter account yesterday.

Now an inch taller, Sotto is very excited on his much-awaited NBA G League debut.

Sotto, together with Fil-Am Jalen Green and the rest of the pro pathway team Ignite will finally be seeing action on the court as the developmental league will hold its 2020-21 regular season in the Florida bubble starting February.

The Walnut Creek, California-based Ignite, along with 17 other clubs, will play in Walt Disney World Resort, the same venue of the coronavirus-hit 2019-20 NBA season which culminated with the Los Angeles Lakers winning the NBA title.

Different from a traditional season, Ignite, who were originally not included for the G League championship chase, will now be eligible to advance to the playoffs due to the unique circumstances.

In a recent interview, Ignite coach Brian Shaw said his troops are looking foward for their debut.

“We’re excited to be a part of the G League schedule at Disney,” said Shaw.

“This is a unique opportunity for our players to showcase their development while gaining a high volume of experience quickly against the caliber of talent they’ll face every day in the NBA,” he added.

The top eight teams of the tournament will advance to a single-elimination playoff.
