SENATE President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III pushes for a resolution honoring and commending the sacrifice, bravery and heroism of the men and women in the healthcare profession and all other frontliners in the present COVID-19 crisis.
In Senate Resolution 351, Sotto said that the supreme sacrifice of our doctors, nurses, and other frontliners in order to protect this nation against the COVID-19 pandemic should not be forgotten and deserves the highest commendation.
Based on information, as of 30 March 2020, the Department of Health reported a total of 1,546 cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, with a total number of 42 recoveries and a total of 78 deaths.
Among the fatalities of this deadly virus are 13 selfless doctors who dedicated their lives to save others.
Sotto said that the nation is grieving their loss and other frontliners who chose to serve their countrymen, sacrificing their life in the process.
Therefore, Sotto stressed in his resolution it is imperative that measures be urgently taken to ensure the safety and well-being of our frontliners in the medical, allied and other fields in support to these gallant and selfless soldiers in this trying times.
