Sotto pushes resolution honoring frontliners’ supreme sacrifice

SENATE President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III pushes for a resolution honoring and commending the sacrifice, bravery and heroism of the men and women in the healthcare profession and all other frontliners in the present COVID-19 crisis.

​In Senate Resolution 351, Sotto said that the supreme sacrifice of our doctors, nurses, and other frontliners in order to protect this nation against the COVID-19 pandemic should not be forgotten and deserves the highest commendation.

​Based on information, as of 30 March 2020, the Department of Health reported a total of 1,546 cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, with a total number of 42 recoveries and a total of 78 deaths.

​Among the fatalities of this deadly virus are 13 selfless doctors who dedicated their lives to save others.

​Sotto said that the nation is grieving their loss and other frontliners who chose to serve their countrymen, sacrificing their life in the process.

​Therefore, Sotto stressed in his resolution it is imperative that measures be urgently taken to ensure the safety and well-being of our frontliners in the medical, allied and other fields in support to these gallant and selfless soldiers in this trying times.
