DoE extends energy efficiency reporting to April 2021

July 08, 2020

The Department of Energy has announced the extension of the submission of the Annual Energy Efficiency and Conservation Reports  for designated establishments until April 15, 2021.

Under the Republic Act 11285, or the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act and its implementing rules and regulations, designated establishments from the commercial, industrial and transport sectors are required to submit their AEECR to the DoE every 15th of April.

However, DoE decided to extend the submission of the reports until next year due to the country’s different quarantine measures amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

It initially extended the deadline to May 13 this year and further extended the reporting to June 30, 2020.

“This additional extension is in recognition of the adverse impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic on stakeholders' business operations,” the agency said in a statement.

But the DoE encourages stakeholders to submit the AEECR the soonest time possible.

Designated establishments are those with annual energy consumption threshold of 100,000 kilowatt hours and above.
