CONTROVERSIAL Phoenix LPG player Calvin Abueva deserves a second chance.
This was the assessment of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) after Abueva received a high passing grade during his Professional Athlete’s Code of Conduct and Ethics seminar last Oct. 14.
In a report to GAB Chairman Abraham “Baham” Mitra, GAB lead evaluator Kara Mallonga recommended the reinstatement of Abueva’s license after satisfactorily completing three online seminars last Oct. 6, 8 and 14.
“The Professional Athlete’s Code of Conduct and Ethics seminar has been satisfactorily completed by Calvin Abueva as part of the pre-requisites for the reinstatement of his Games and Amusements Board professional basketball license,” said Mallonga in her report.
“Abueva was able to sufficiently complete all the seminar requirements and submit all the activities assigned to him.He engaged and energetically participated in the discussions,” added Mallonga.
Abueva’s license was suspended indefinitely by GAB following a flagrant penalty foul 2 and verbal altercation with a fan during a PBA game last May 31, 2019.
