AMA University Sports Director and Head Coach Mark Herrera poses with PBA D-League first round pick overall propect Joshua Munzon of Asean Basketball League (ABL). AMA Online, the only team without a foreign player, is supported by AMA Chairman Amable Aguiluz V and President Amable Aguiluz IX.

AMA Online Education will have the first crack in the 2019 PBA D-League Draft today at the PBA.
The Titans claimed the top pick after finishing in the cellar in the Aspirants’s and Foundation Cups last season, and coach Mark Herrera has his sights set on some of the big names in the pool of 153 aspirants.

ASEAN Basketball League veteran Joshua Munzon, UP playmaker Juan Gomez de Liano, Adamson forward Sean Manganti, and La Salle big man Santi Santillan headline the big names in the list, giving AMA a bounty of choices as it seeks to perform better this season.

It will be the third straight time that the Titans will select first in the developmental league draft. They took in Jeron Teng in 2016 and Owen Graham in 2017.

Batangas-EAC owns the second pick, while CEU is at third.

A record 20 teams, 15 of them school-based squads, are participating in the 2019 PBA D-League season, set to open on February 14 at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Reigning Foundation Cup champion Go for Gold-CSB is returning and hopes to emerge on top again.

But it will have its hands full against a tough field bannered by collegiate titlists Ateneo of UAAP, San Beda of NCAA, St. Clare of NAASCU, and Diliman College of UCBL.
