Citi Global, Trace, San Agustin gain

DEFENDING champion Citi Global College-Sta.Rosa, Trace College-Los Baños and Colegio de San Aguatin-Biñan fashioned out constrasting victories over their respective rivals in the 6th Laguna College and University Athletic Association (LACUAA) high school basketball tournament at Trace College Gym in Los Baños, Laguna.

Citi Global crushed University of the Philippine- Los Baños, 69-53, to register its third straight win for the solo lead in tournament organized by BAP Region 4 head Leonardo “Ding” Andres.and Prof. Arnaldo M. Dilig.

Sean Michael Sandoval scattered a game-high 25 points for the coach Anthony Basbas- mentored Citi Global, followed by John Impas with 16 points and Raymark Magnabre with 12 points.

Trace demolished Zion Academy of Carmona, 60-42 and Colegio de San Agustin clobbered University of Perpetual Help Dalta System- Calamba, 60-46.

Justin Caborca and Lee Russell Reyes combined 25 points for Trace,  which is being handled by multi-titled coach Nomar Isla.

The Stallions posted thier second straight win, good for second place in a tie with CSA-Biñan.

Jeric James Tongol finished with 13 points for Zion Academy, which suffered its third loss in as many games.

CSA, which is being handled by former PBA player-turned- coach Pat Codinera, relied on John Jerrick Espanol, Andre Monserrat, Jonne Jhumel Bartolo and John Jerrick Gonzales in downing University of Perpetual Help.

Espanol, Monserrat, Bartolo and Gonzales scored 10 points apiece for CSA.

Jon Rafhael Naraga topscored with 20 points for Perpetual, which fell to 0-2 (win-loss)..
