NEWLY-crowned Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) champion Diliman College is looking forward to its first appearance in the PBA D-League next year.
Handled by multi-titled coach Rensy Bajar, the Blue Dragons vow to field a school-based but competitive team capable of holding itw own against the more established commercial and collegiate teams in the league.
"We (Blue Dragons) will go there ready. Our team will give all of them a good fight," said Bajar, who hopes to bring the same winning mentality of the team in the PBA D-League.
“I think we have prepared our players well for this new challenge with the support of the Diliman College community, headed by former Sen. Nikku Coseteng and our major sponsor Gerry's Grill thru Jerome Nho and Wilson Sia,” added Bajar, also the first assistant coach of Pido Jarencio in North Port Batang Pier in the PBA.
Bajar said the team is now looking to add new players to the line-up to fill up the team's needs.
Tryouts will now be held from 2 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting Dec. 17 at the Diliman College gym in Commonwealth Ave., Diliman, Quezon City.
Players should be 29 years old and below to be eligible to join the tryouts.
"This is a good opportunity for young and talented players to join our team and be part of the PBA D-League," added Bajar.
