ENDERUN Colleges completed a grand slam by winning its third straight women's basketball title in the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) at the RTU gym in Mandaluyong.
Enderun drew big games from Princess Abigail Manzanares, Mary Grace Calang and Kate Marcos to beat Rizal Technological Universiry, 77-60, and capture the title for the third time in as many years of participation.
Manzanares finished with 19 points, nine rebounds and six assist while Calang and Marcos contributed 14 points apiece for the Haydee Ong-coached Lady Titans, who also defeated the Lady Thunder, 75-57, in the opener of the scheduled best-of-three title showdown.
Joylyn Pangilinan and Shenzhen Callangan also starred in the Lady TItans' victory with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
The Lady Titans have now beaten the Lady Thunder in the finals for three straight years from 2016-18 to match the three-peat.of Centro Escolar University from 2013-15.
Interestingly, RTU also finished runner-up to CEU for three consecutive years.
Ong also joins the elite list of NAASCU coaches with her third championship with the Lady Titans.
Jeremiah Yonzon topscored for the Lady Thunder with 15 points with three triples.
The other members of Enderun are team captain Fayth Pumaren, Sarah Samantha Casal, Princess Caren Baylosis, Roxy Liao, Francine Geli, Breana Chauca, Czareena Gonzalez, Dhana Dalagan and Geraldine Chapa.
