Golden Harvest nail no. 4

CITY of Valencia Bukidnon-San Sebastian scored a wire-to-wire 96-64 win over Wang’s Ballclub to rediscover its winning ways in the PBA D-League yesterday at the JCSGO Gym.

The Golden Harvest put the fight out of the Couriers by scoring the game’s first 18 points and even extended the lead to as much as 33, 60-27 at halftime.

“Ang importante ngayon, the boys executed our game plan and ang ganda ng depensa namin,” said coach Egay Macaraya after City of Valencia Bukidnon rebounded from a 65-71 loss to Centro Escolar University last March 19.

Allyn Bulanadi had 28 points, seven rebounds and two steals, while RK Ilagan scored nine of his 13 points in the first half for the Golden Harvest.

City of Valencia Bukidnon forced a tie with Metropac-SBU in second place in the Foundation Group at 4-1.

Later, Cignal-Ateneo seized solo second in the Aspirants’ Group with an emphatic 88-66 victory over St. Clare.  

Down by 16 points at halftime, the Blue Eagles unleashed a 37-point outburst in the third quarter en route in improving their record at 5-1, while the Saints suffered their first loss of the season after four consecutive victories.

Ken Villapando produced 15 points and five rebounds, while JM Calma nabbed a double-double of 10 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks in the bounce back win for the Golden Harvest.

City of Valencia limited Wang’s to just 35-percent shooting clip which keyed its bounce back win.
