LAGUNA, Dasmariñas, and Zamboanga emerge as the unbeaten teams at the end of the preseason tournament of the National Basketball League (NBL) last Saturday at the Hagonoy Sports Complex in Taguig City.
The Laguna Pistons finished with a 2-0 record in the preseason after beating defending champion Parañaque Aces, 87-82, last Saturday, while the Dasmariñas Ballers won over the Taguig Generals, 76-74, to also take their second win in as many games.
The Zamboanga Valientes, meanwhile, beat the Bulacan Starks, 80-59, to claim their only game of the preseason organized by the NBL to serve as a tune-up for the coming second season of the league which will open on Saturday, March 9 in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
King Fadriquela had 22 points for the Pistons, who also defeated the Pasig Rios, 85-67, in their first game of the preseason.
Prior to their win over the Generals, the Ballers won over the Quezon City Rising Stars, 81-72, in their first game of the preseason with Junard Caparida scoring 17 points in that victory.
Earl Barredo had 14 points, and Louie Pasamante had 12 points for the Valientes, one of the newest teams that joined the NBL for its second season.
