AFTER clearing their swab tests, the Manila Chooks TM players were finally able to train at the Al Gharafa Sports Complex yesterday as they gear up for the 2021 FIBA 3X3 World Tour Doha Masters.
Chico Lanete, who is also one of the coaches of the team with head trainer Aldin Ayo, liked what he saw from the boys as they face Austria’s Graz and Qatar’s Doha in today’s qualifying matches.
After practice, Manila Chooks TM headed back to the hotel for the players orientation meeting with FIBA 3×3 competition senior Associate Jovana Vukoje.
“Ready na kami,” said Lanete.
Manila Chooks TM will take on Graz first at 7:30 p.m. (Manila time), before facing Doha at 8:05 p.m. for a slot at the tournament proper.
Aside Lanete, Mac Tallo, Zach Huang and Dennis Santos are also with the retooled Manila Chooks TM squad, which lost its star players last year to the PBA.
The top team will advance to the pool stage where it will be joined by United States’ NY Harlem and Princeton in Pool D. Pool games will also be played tomorrow.
The FIBA 3X3 World Tour Doha Masters is a maximum-level (level 11) event.
The games are aired live on the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas official Facebook page and YouTube channel of FIBA 3X3.Publication Source : People's Tonight
