OPENING-day winner Manila guns for its second straight win and the early lead when it battles Parañaque even as four more teams make their debut in the M-League basketball championships at the Hagonoy gym in Taguig.
Manila, which debuted with a 90-82 win over Marikina on opening day last Sunday, and Parañaque take the floor in the 3 p.m. first game of a quadruple bill in the 10-team tournament organized by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) thru Metro Manila Sportsfest and supported by the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Parañaque dropped its opening game to Pateros, 70-78.
In the battle of debuting teams, Quezon City plays Las Piñas at 6 p.m. and host Taguig meets San Juan at 7:30 p.m.
Marikina and Caloocan try to bounce back from opening-day losses when they clash at 4:30 p.m.
Last Sunday, MMDA Special Operations head Bong Nebrija made the ceremonial toss during the opening ceremony.
A total of 10 cities divided into the North and South Divisions are seeing action in the tournament which has “mobile app ng bayan” Barangay 143 as presentor, Spalding as the official ball, Team Rebel Sports as official outfitter and Synergy 88, San Miguel Corp., World Balance, Frabelle Foods, Summit Mineral Water, AlcoPlus, Gerry’s Grill, Excellent Noodles, glitter.ph, SM Supermalls and Nature’s Spring as major sponsors.
