2 p.m.-- City of Valencia Bukidnon vs SMDC-NU
4 p.m. --CEU vs Metropac-SBU
THREE Foundation Group teams try to stay unbeaten in another PBA D-League doubleheader at the Paco Arena today.
Centro Escolar University and Metropac-SBU, both sporting perfect 2-0 cards, face off at 4 p.m., while City of Valencia Bukidnon-San Sebastian, also undefeated in two contests, clashes with winless SMDC-NU at 2 p.m.
Both the Scorpions and the Movers have banked on their defense to get the job done in their first two games.
CEU has limited foes to a league-best 70.5 points, while Metropac-SBU isn’t that far behind with its 72.5 points allowed.
That's why for Scorpions coach Derrick Pumaren, he's hoping that the experience advantage would favor his side over the Movers.
“They are a tough team. Hopefully, we come out, show up, and step up to the challenge. This will be a good gauge for us kung nasaan na kami,: said Pumaren after CEU fashioned out a 90-65 win over University of Perpetual Help System Dalta last week.
Senegalese big man Maodo Diouf has been rock solid in the middle, while Rich Guinitaran and Pierce Chan will be counted on their offensive firepower for the Scorpions.
Diouf will be tested by Cameroonian center Donald Tankoua, as Metropac-SBU has been getting big contributions from its young guns James Canlas and Evan Nelle.
Metropac-SBU is coming off a 94-70 victory over Wang's Ballclub last Feb. 28 and would love to add another victim to its growing list.
