TOKYO Olympics campaigner and boxing champion Irish Magno will headline another star-studded edition of the “Usapang Sports on Air” by the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) on Thursday, Oct. 29.
Magno, who became the second Filipino boxer to make it to the Tokyo Olympics after Eumir Marcial and fourth overall behind gymnast Carlos Yulo and pole vaulter EJ Obiena, will talk about her chances in the coronavirus-delayed Olympics.
Magno won over Sumaiya Qosimova of Tajikistan in the box-off round of the 2020 Asia and Oceania Olympic boxing qualifying tournament in Amman, Jordan last March to book her ticket to Tokyo.
Joining Magno in the 10 a.m. public service program are James de los Santos, now the World No. 1 in Kata Karateka and his protege Fatima Hamsain; and Kristopher Inting, president of the United Kendo Federation of the Philippines.
TOPS president Ed Andaya of People’s Tonight is inviting all officers and members and friends in the sports community to attend the weekly forum sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
