BAMBOL Tolentino will take a crack at the top post of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) when the sports body holds a special election on July 28.
The concurrent chairman of the country’s Olympic body announced is decision to run for POC president during a special press conference at the Golden Bay Restaurant on Thursday.
“Yes, yung lang yata ang hinihintay ninyo,” said Tolentino emphatically when asked if he will be seeking the presidency of the POC. “Yes I will para matapos na ang lahat ng ito once and for all.”
At the same time, Tolentino, president of the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philipppines (Philcycling), reiterated he’s still POC chairman, and as the highest official of the sports body, is the one empowered to oversee the special executive board meeting slated on July 8 and the general assembly scheduled on July 18 prior to the holding of another extraordinary general assembly for the elections of officers 10 days later.
