EVERYTHING is all set for the 2020 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation National Online Poomsae Taekwondo Championships slated on May 29-31.
The country's first-ever online tournament came in the heels of the Philippines' three-gold haul in the Online Daedo Open European Poomsae Championships earlier this month.
The competition is only for colored and black belt members in good standing with the Philippine Taekwondo Association.
There will be six age-group categories in the men and women division namely toddler (8 years old-below), grade school (9-11 years old), cadet (12-14 years old), junior (15-17 years old), senior 1 (30 years old-below) and senior 2 (40 years old-below).
The performance can be video recorded indoors or outdoors, and the participants are reminded to follow strictly the instructions from of the national and local health authorities with regard to social distancing and proper hygiene.
The video recording shall be done while the athlete is facing the camera in the start position. At all times, the athlete shall be 100% full body inside the screen and viideos may be disqualified if parts of the body go out of the screen.
Like in a regular poomsae competition, the scoring criteria will be on the jin's accuracy (4.0) and presentation (6.0).
Speed and power, control of power, speed and rhythm and expression of energy are crucial in the presentation part of the performance.
