June 21, 2019

IMUS CITY — F2 Logistics seeks its third straight win when it collides with Foton in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference Saturday at the Imus Sports Center here.

The Cargo Movers try to extend their winning run in their 4 p.m. battle with the Tornadoes in this prestigious women’s club tourney bankrolled by SOGO, Eurotel, PCSO, Cocolife, UCPB Gen, Mueller, Senoh, Asics, Bizooku and One Sport.

Meanwhile, PLDT Home Fibr and Sta. Lucia seek to avenge their previous setbacks when they tangle in the 2 p.m. appetizer of this battle that also has ESPN5 and Kapatid TV5 as broadcast partners.

With Kalei Mau doing damage, the Cargo Movers are taking the league by storm.

In her first game since transferring from the disbanded United VC, the former Arizona standout delivered 17 points to power F2 Logistics to a very impressive 25-15, 27-25, 25-22 victory over PLDT.

F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus said he liked what he saw, especially with the way Mau blended with former La Salle stars like Aby Marano, Dawn Macandili, Ara Galang, Kianna Dy and Majoy Baron.

“Not bad for a first timer,” said de Jesus, who guided the Lady Spikers to 11 titles in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

“She’s still making some adjustments in training. The good thing is that she’s very open to suggestions and she’s willing to adjust.”

On the other hand, Foton tries to recover from a sorry 25-22, 24-26, 19-25, 16-25 loss to Generika-Ayala late Thursday.

The Tornadoes struggled down the stretch as the troika of Angeli Araneta, Fiola Ceballos and Patty Orendain did damage and powered the Lifesavers for their second straight win in three games.
