A NEW name but the same objective of winning for Makati in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).
From the Makati Skyscrapers, the team will now be kown as Makati Super Crunch in the 2018 MPBL season.
This was announced by Makati Super Crunch team manager Paolo Orbeta and Prifood owner Enrico Yap Jr. during a well-attended media briefing held to announce the new partnership in Makati recently.
“We are grateful to Mr. Yap for his trust and confidence to the Makati team,” Orbeta told sportswriters..
“We promise to work harder and play better games to make them (Prifood) proud of us, “ said co-team owner Paolo Pineda.
Makati Super Crunch team manager Martin Arenas also revealed plans for expansion of the team.
“With the help of Super Crunch, Makati is planning to enter the PBA in the coming years,” said Arenas.
“And if given the chance, we would also like to help our national team and other sports as well.
Makati Super Crunch coach Cholo Villanueva said the entry of Super Crunch will provide added motivation to the players to perform even better.
“Sa tulong ng Super Crunch, inaasahan kong mas lalong titibay ang kampanya ng team at samahan ng mga players,” said Villanueva.
The members of the Makati Super Crunch team now seeing action in the MPBL are Mark Isip, Philip Paniamogan, Rudy Lingganay, Mark Lester Sta. Maria, Cedric Ablaza, Roy Cayanan, Jerald Bautista, Carlou Jay Lloren, John Rey Villanueva, James Mangahas, Carlos Morales, Vincent Importante, Joseph Manlangit, Mark Angelo Samonte, Gio Nicolo Lasquety, Earvin-Ale Lacsamana, Jeckster Apinan, and Jaycee John Asuncion.
