ALCALA, Cagayan – The Philippine Homing Pigeon Association (PHA) North Young and Old Birds Series continued with the fourth leg last Nov. 4 with Victor Tan and Emilio Romero winning in their respective categories.
Tan and PHA-18-1802813 – a blue check hen out of Janssen/Stichelbaut X Oscar/Mo Band bloodline – made a speed of 1,237.198 meter per minute to rule the Young Birds category
Tuguegarao leg winner Charlie Chen and Rey So finished second and third, respectively.
Chen and PHA-18-180566 – a blue check cock out of Victor Tan Line – took second place with a speed of 1,234.906 meter per minute, while So and PHA-18-1801532 – a blue bar hen out of De Raw Sablon origin – clinched third place with a speed of 1,234.241 meter per minute.
Also making it are Rey So, fourth place; Victor Tan, fifth place; Rey So, sixth place; Rey So, seventh place; Justeen Garcia, eighth place; Rey So, ninth place; and Benito Go Que, 10th place.
In the Old Birds category, Romero and PHA-18-3807313 – a blue check cock out of Koopman X Crack 52 bloodline – grabbed first place with a speed of 1,231.510 meter per minute.
Victor Tan and PHA-18-1858901 — a blue bar white flight cock out of De Ricky Walter Line — timed 1,216.190 meter per minute for second place.
Paquito Ngo and PHA-18-2812850 – a blue bar hen out of Van Den Broucke X Aarden – clocked 1,197.190 meter per minute for third place.
Joining them are Teddy & Biboy,Paul Ung, Pquito Ngo, Teddy & Biboy, Blue Sky Loft, Solomon Solano and Rudy Medina.
In his report to PHA president Jaime “Jimi” Lim, racing chairman Nelson Chua said a total of 678 birds out of 960 birds from 81 lofts were clocked in the Young Birds series; and 146 birds out of 219 birds from 40 lofts were clocked in the Old Birds class.
The birds were released at about 6:15 a.m. last Nov. 4 for an approximately total distance of 380 kilometers.

First leg, Munoz, Oct. 14 — Joel de los Reyes (Young Birds) and Jaime “Jimi” Lim (Old Birds).
Second leg, Sta. Maria, Oct. 21 — Jeg Ambrosio (Young Birds) and Henry Tan (Old Birds).
Third leg, Tuguegarao, Oct. 28 — Charlie Chen (Young Birds) and Benito Go Que (Old Birds).
