EVERYTHING is set for the staging of the 15th National Online Trainers Seminar to he held on November 20, 21and 22 with no less than Asia’s first GM Eugene Torre in attendance.
Torre, the country’s most-recognizable player since becoming Asia’s first-ever grandmaster in the Nice Olympiad in 1974, will share his knowledge and experiences during the seminar.
The three-day activity is organized by the Professional Chess Trainers Association of the Philippines (PCTAP), headed by president AGM/NM Rudy Ibañez, in cooperation with the Barangays Achieving Through Chess (BATCH), led by president Eduardo Madrid.
“This is another good opportunity to listen and learn from GM Torre himself. He wants to share his knowledge and experiences to as many people as possible,” said Ibañez
“It is always a very nice experience to be with GM Torre, who turned 69 last Nov. 4,” said Madrid.
Ibañez and Madrid agreed to pursue the online trainers seminar as part of the programs of their respective associations.
Ibañez said the online trainers seminar is open to all coaches, arbiters, public and private school teachers, chess club officials, amateurs/enthusiasts, parents, professionals and individuals who want to learn the rudiments of proper online chess training in chess clubs, schools and other regional and national training activities.
Torre will be one of the seminar’s facilitators, along with Ibañez, International Arbiter Reden Cruz and other competent PCTAP/National Trainers.
The seminar course will cover the strategies and techniques on how to conduct chess training to the students in an Online Training System.
Lecturers will deliver following the seminar theme: “Training System in The New Normal.”
Seminar fee is P1,800, inclusive of Certificate of Attendance, Trainer Title and PCTAP ID card as Official Trainer. Upgrader is also an active PCTAP Trainer who wishes to attain the next title promotion.
Titles/awards will be given by PCTAP are Developmental Trainer, Regional Trainer and National Trainers (A, B, C, D).
