IT’S all about the Pilipinas Vis-Min Super Cup basketball championships when the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) holds another “Usapang Sports on Air” via Zoom this Thursday.
Pilipinas Vis-Min Super Cup chief operating officer Rocky Chan and PBA legend-turned- Vis-Min Cup ambassador Dondon Hontiveros will talk about the country’s newest professional basketball league during the 10 a.m. session.
Joining them are Vis-Min Super Cup secretary-general Chelito Caro and MDC Sports,Inc. officials Tobee Diaz De Leon, Nico Clemente and Goy Bagares.
Vis-Min Super Cup, the only professional basketball league based in the Visayas–Mindanao region, is set to kick off on April 9 in Cebu City.
Six teams, including three from Cebu Province, will play a double-round tournament leading to the semis and finals.
After the Visayas leg, action shifts to Mindanao with a similar format to be played in Zamboanga sometime in May.
The Visayas and Mindanao champions will clash for the overall championship.
TOPS president Ed Andaya of People’s Tonight is inviting all officers and members, and friends in the sports community, to join the weekly public service program sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
This is the seventh session for the year of TOPS, which is composed of editors, columnists, reporters and photographers of the country’s leading national tabloids and blogger-friends from different social media groups
