SAN Miguel Alab Pilipinas suffered an 89-102 loss to Thailand’s Mono Vampire in the ASEAN Basketball League Sunday evening at the Caloocan Sports Complex.
Alab could not replicate its 96-73 win against Mono last Dec. 17, as it fell to a 6-4 record.
The two teams will meet again for one final time this season on Thursday night in Bangkok.
Prince William had 23 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists, while Sam Deguara also did the job for the home team with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Nick King, however, struggled as he went just 2-of-17 from the field to finish with six points while also committing five turnovers.
It was another disappointing outing for Alab, which is coming off a thrilling 77-76 road win over Hong Kong’s Eastern last Thursday.
Alab fell behind by as much as 16 points, 36-52, before the trio of William, Deguara and Jeremiah Gray stepped up to cut the deficit to as 70-77, early in the final period.
Thai-American Tyler Lamb then scored six straight points to give Mono the needed cushion, while Freddie Lish, Michael Morrisonand Mike Singletary provided the finishing touches to help the team raise the league’s best record at 9-3.
Gray added 12 points, while Alab playmaker Jason Brickman had nine points, eight assists and three steals.
Morrison and Singletary each had 23 points, while Lamb and Preston Knowles added 18 and 17 points, respectively, for Mono.
